Trichoscopy

Trichoscopy is a method of hair and scalp evaluation through a computer diagnostics tool.

Essence of the procedure

The main method is examination of the problematic part of the head through trichoscopy. The device is a camera with special optics.

The results of the examination are shown at 10-1,000-fold magnification on the computer screen.

Trichoscopy is performed through a special head. The hairy part of the head is examined in parts. The specialist inspects the damaged and healthy parts and analyzes all the information obtained after the procedure, and the results are saved in the computer.

All the following processes taking place in the hairy part are adjusted through trichoscopy:

  • thickness and quality of hair follicle
  • quantity of hair follicles at 1 sq/cm
  • ratio of falling hair to growing hair in percentages
  • degree of hair loss
  • dynamics of activation of hair loss
